Thank you for the answer, I will see if I can get it to work, and I will definitely read through the design guide, thank you.

Re: Migrating virtual machine to a new Mac
Thank you.
File not found: Virtual Disk.vmdk
I purchased a new MacBook. After shutting down Fusion on the old MacBook, I copied the virtual machine to the new computer. When I attempt to start this virtual machine on the new MacBook by clicking File\Open, vmWare throws an error, 'File not found: Virtual Disk.vmdk'. When I click 'Browse,' I see 17 virtual disks including 'Virtual Disk-000001-s001.vmdk', 'Virtual Disk-000001-s002.vmdk', ..., 'Virtual Disk-000001-s016.vmdk', and 'Virtual Disk-000001.vmdk'. Selecting any of these 17 virtual disks will not allow vmWare to start the virtual machine on the new computer. What am I doing wrong?
Nested Home Lab network issue
Hello, guys!
Building nested home lab, bought poweredge r720 with 64GB RAM, installed ESXi 6.7, configured mgmt IP 10.1.1.10/16
Then deployed nested ESXi with 24GB RAM, configured mgmt IP 10.1.1.50/16.
Then inside it deployed VCSA and configured IP 10.1.1.100.
From my workstation 10.1.1.1/16 all ESXi mgmt IPs are reachable, except VCSA (no pings, no https).
When I SSH to 10.1.1.50, I can ping both desktop 10.1.1.1/16 and VCSA 10.1.1.100/16.
Ffom VCSA desktop 10.1.1.1/16 is unreachable.
Please suggest.
Thank you.
Re: VMware Workstation 14.1.6 to 14.1.8 update and guest macOS 10.14.3 boot issue
You are violating the EULAs of both Apple and VMware by running macOS on that setup. You are only permitted to run virtualized macOS on official Apple hardware via either Fusion or ESXi. As a result we cannot and will not help you here on these forums.
Re: Nested Home Lab network issue
Change port group security policy to allow forged transmits and MAC address changes.
Re: Upgrade Esxi 6.7 U1 to Esxi 6.7 U2 Failed due to No space left on device
I'm having the same problem with a fresh install of 6.7u2. Same error message and log output as the original poster. Also like the original poster, my issue does not seem related to the locker vib. jimgreeny did you ever figure this out?

Re: "Shared Folders" with Workstation Pro 15 and RHEL 8
My Share Folders in RHEL7 Workstation disappear after every reboot.
I have to toggle disable and then back to enable to get /mnt/hgfs to populate after a vm reboot or startup. However, this isn't the case with RHEL8. My share folders are restored on reboot.
Workstation 15.5.1, RHEL 8 Server - cannot do muliple displays
Cannot enable multiple displays on RHEL 8 server.
1. open-vm-tools installed; RHEL8 image updated to latest patches.
2. attempts to utilize VMWare tools instead not available as an option - VMware Tools button grayed out. (even after uninstall of open-vm-tools is complete followed by reboot).
3. With open-vm-tools installed, selecting vm display button on menu bar (lined out) produces error message saying virtual machine must have up-to-date vmware tools installed and running.
I haven't attempted CentOS 8 to see if same symptoms present. I recall this being an issue for RHEL7 for awhile (couldn't do three displays until like 7.4+)

Re: Persistent volume in VMware.
No, if the data is in the 'detachable' volume it is much easier to handle, we may detach the volume from a VM and attach in another running VM instance.
Data is backed up only at the time of cloning but if there is a separate volume, data stays there all the time.
Re: Windows 7 Guest Fails to Start in Workstation Player 15.5
I finally successfully navigated through the system-crash menus and was able to boot to safe-mode-without-network. Device Manager informed me that one of the numerous vmWare network drivers listed had failed to load, so I've deleted that, and maybe now it will work.
Alt-Tab not working properly on MacOS host Horizon version 5.2.0 and 5.2.1
When I try to switch between windows in my remote session using the alt-tab shortcut key, it just switches between the two most recently used windows. I noticed this behavior in version 5.2.0 and when I switched back to 5.1.0 it was working as expected again. It seems to be broken in 5.2.1 still.
I hope this can be fixed soon!

Hello,
I have stopped it now however still don't see memory usage going down. so many java.exe showing in processes. Any idea if this is normal?
Re: Migration failed possibly due to timeout
In an FTT1 setup, does vSAN copy a single copy of the VM components via the network and then creates the second copy on the destination vSAN or does it copy both VM components straightaway? Assume live migration or cold migration does not change anything here?
In case the cold migration fails I can also consider cloning the existing vSAN Default Storage Policy and change the Primary level of failures to tolerate to 0 on the newly cloned copy (Ex. FTT0 vSAN Policy) by doing the below steps:
- Shutdown the VM
- Change the storage policy for its disks. This should half the VM storage size but not sure if further action is needed or best way to confirm this has completed?
- Attempt migrating again
- Power on the VM
- Apply back the vSAN Default Storage Policy on its disks.
This is a secondary VM so this might be an option to consider if the above makes sense.
Thanks
How to clone or make a template of a VM of just C drive
Hi,
I have a VM with two Drives (C & F) but I would like to clone or make a template of only C drive excluding the F drive.
Is it possible to make a clone or a template as mentioned above?
Thanks in advance
Re: Upgrade fails with Not enough disk space
I've the same problem. "export_dir": "/storage/updatemgr/migration" setting on .json file didn't work. I created "migration" folder before the upgrade.
The log shows:
Running precheck: RecommendOrCheckExportDirTask execution failed
Error message: Not enough disk space on '/' for exporting source data 19.34 GB
including migrate set 'all' in export_dir '/storage/updatemgr/migration'.
Any idea how to point exporting source data to "/storage/updatemgr/migration" ?

Re: vSAN起動、停止時の確認について
こんにちは。
このスクリプトは /usr/lib/vmware/vsan/bin に移動しないで、
ESXiログイン時のカレントディレクトリ(/)から、フルパス指定で実行するとよいようです。
(reboot_helper.py ではなく、/usr/lib/vmware/vsan/bin/reboot_helper.py)
python /usr/lib/vmware/vsan/bin/reboot_helper.py prepare
