VMware Remote Console 10 can it be an alternative to move this os?
Hi
I can't get Workstation to work on my work computer.
I get the error message when I try to load (any) OS in Workstation, "This host supports AMD-V, but AMD-V is disabled"
I've already done/tried the following:
-virtualization eanbled in BIOS
- hyper-v removed under "turn windows features on or off".
I'm in touch with company IT support and they suspect that this may be linked to Virtualization Based Security on Credential Guard GPO.
What exactly should they look for?
I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1803, and currently latest Workstation Pro Edition, 15.5.1

Hi,
my company is thinking about using vGPU.
As the license for vSphere Enterprise Plus is very expensive (~3500 EUR) I would want to know if we can use one license as many times as we need or we have to buy one license per ESXi host.
Thanks in advance

the usage of vcpu doesnt count. you need one license per cpu-socket. or you license per vm, maybe that will become cheaper - then you can use as many hosts you need
I am having difficulty starting a virtual machine. My machine is kali linux. All I get is "Virtual Machine failed to start." I have set this virtual machine up before a dozen times, but this is the first time that I have ever gotten this error. What do I do? I am running VMWare Workstation Pro, 15.5.0 build-14665864
In general I'd aske license questions to a local var or vmware represtentivate, but generally the licenses are for a set number of cpu in my experiance and you can use the license for as many hosts that add up to that cpu number.
Like Berndweyand said, its per socket, so I' was referring to the hardware cpu count.
That would be a violation of the End User License Agreement.
I have a workstation 15 vm Windows 10.
Everything was working fine.Until suddenly I notice
that I don't have access to internet in vm. So I checked network properties and found this

So let me know what should I do ?
There was some kind of update pop up which when accepted tried to update that had failed giving a
message trying to stop services (on host machine) some how I cancelled that after waiting for 2 hours
and after that this has become a new problem.
There is no option to enable it
Can you the NoIPinCert switch?
If lets say
Im downgrading my version of ESXI to 6.0 does Vsphare client 6.0 will support it?
Am i getting the concept?
Thanks
Oren
No joy. Onward to Last Known Good configuration boot.
Thanks, works much better now. Still throws a null 'category' error when no OS is found. I tried adding an -ErrorAction Stop after the Write-Warning but that failed. Thinkiong I need to stop the New-Tag cmdlet somehow if no OS is found...

No, what would that do? It just opens the remote console of a VM. As stated, this OS is not supported on that version.
Buenas tardes,
alguno esta familiarizado con este error, intento subir una iso al datastore y me indica el siguiente error.
The warning and the New-Tag error are afaik not coming from the same VM.
Try replacing the Category value on the New-Tag cmdlet
$tag=Get-Tag-Category $cat-Name $vm.ExtensionData.Guest.GuestFullName-Server (([uri]$vm.ExtensionData.Client.ServiceUrl).Host)
