Yes I'm using a USB one (Netgear).
I know I can't use it on my real system and VM at same time thats why I've been using the removable device > Network Adapter > Connect (disconnect from host)
I don't understand what you mean by 'VM uses a virtual wired adapter'.
I just don't understand why it won't find my router but it finds others in my area when searching.
